Our History

Celebrating 50 years in business, Century Contractors was founded in 1975 as a subsidiary of Sauer Industries, Inc. in Pittsburgh. One of America’s oldest contracting firms, Sauer lent its experience and reputation to help build the strong foundation that Century has continued to strengthen over the past five decades. Since an ownership change in 1991, Century has expanded to provide construction and contracting services to regional and national clients while maintaining excellent customer service and award-winning safety standards. On January 1, 2025, Century Contractors was proudly acquired by Comfort Systems USA, marking an exciting new chapter in the company’s history. This partnership strengthens Century’s ability to serve clients with expanded resources, national reach, and continued commitment to quality, safety, and customer relationships.
